Week 10
G ood morning, everyone. Hope you had a good week since last we met. Today we will watch It's a Wonderful Life (1946), directed by Frank Capra, and starring James Stewart and Donna Reed. Set in a small town and depicting the struggle to live one's dreams, the film has become a Christmas classic and annual tradition for many Americans who see in it affirmation of life and the self-sacrifice it may impose. I hope you enjoy it! I have a handout on writing about films that I will distribute, but a few words here. As your essays are to be just 350 words or so, focus on a key scene, moment, or several that you find worthy (your favorites for whatever reasons) and describe their impact and significance in terms of the story, its themes, the character, your personal history, etcetera.
